Love to meme!
It's a fun ship!
Bicentennial Baby
Funny I don't feel 30. I still feel like I'm in my early to mid 20s. Maybe it's because I'm having too much fun to feel older. Hubby and I spent the better part of last night, laughing and teasing, it was great. Maybe that's the secret to eternal youth, love and laughter.
So to celebrate, I'm doing nothing. Just surfing the web, indulging in Gilesfic. I might write more later, but for now, nothing. Just drowning in Gilesy goodness. Maybe that will inspire more stories.
*wanders off to find Gilesy goodness*

Ranting part 3
Got to Buffy, she ranted less than Giles I think. And definetely not about Spike. Maybe it was cause my muse was in a good mood.
Anyway, she's now going where I want and that means I'll get to having them in the same room together soon.
So, on with the smoochies!!!
I should be writing
I really should. I'm in a good mood, my muse is encouraging, and yet I'm playing with memes. Go fig.
Hubby and I were talking this morn and it really got me thinking. I've been toying with the idea of going back to school. I have my B.A. (lot of good it's doing me) and I did complete one years of masters work, but then RL interrupted and I entered the world of retail. Anyway, I had been trying for a MLS, but the only school in OH that has the program is Kent State and it was too far away. So i figure if I go back maybe I could teach high school English or some college classes. Of course hubby suggested that I do my dissertation on Buffy/Angel fanfiction and my mind when a whirling. I think I have it half written already!
yet another Meme!!
01. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
02. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal.
03. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
04. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
05. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1) Do you know what it is to miss New Orleans?
No I do not. =( My husband has been there many times and was devastated that the city was hit so hard. He had wanted to take me there for Mardi Gras one day, but fears the city will never be the same despite efforts to rebuild.
2: What is the color of the sky on your planet?
Clear blue! But I wouldn't mind visiting the one with the orange sky!! *wink to a fellow SG1 lover*
3: Have you ever learned to belly dance?
No! I did want to at one point, but now I'm far too out of shape.
4: Who was your first fanly crush?
Oh, god! Now I have to think!! I might have to say either Harrison Ford or Richard Dean Anderson. (I have a thing for older men!! ) I can't really remember a time when I didn't have some kind of fanly crush. Of course my most recent are Anthony Stewart Head, James Marsters and Michael Shanks.
5. Where are you most ticklish?
On the soles of my feet and the inside of legs.
wanna play?

This is how it works: Comment on this entry that you'd like to play, and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and then pass out letters to those who want to play along.
Wenchie got R and of course put Rupert Giles. I commented that I could include Giles no matter what letter I got. She challenged me, I accepted. Of course being the Giles fan that I am, numbers 1 and 5 came right to mind. So here is my list. (Oh and for those of you counting, that's FIVE Giles references.) <VEG>
And note my mastery of the lj cut! <G>
1. Ethan Rayne. Our favorite Chaos mage. Friend AND enemy to Rupert Giles.
2. Enthusiasm. Something I have plenty of when it comes to anything Buffy/Giles.
3. Energy. What I need more of these days.
4. Emerald. The lovely shade of green I'd like to see in Giles' eyes. Also pretty gems. And a city in Oz.
5. Eyghon. The demon raised by Giles, Ethan and the others. Got Buffy a nifty tattoo. NOT!
6. Emily. My baby sister with a sense of humor as twisted as my own. She understands obsessions and comisserates on lack of Joss on TV.
7. Evening. My favorite time of day. When I get most of my writing done.
8. Evanescence. Good band for inspiring angst and of course my first darkfic, featuring Giles.
9 Eternity. Something I wish I could have. Alas I am only human.
10. Ever after. How long our favorite characters will live happily as long as there are fans to write the fiction.
Rants Redux
Well I picked up where I left off and it only took a few paragraphs for Giles to be done ranting and go where I wanted him to. And that part seemed to just fly onto the page. I guess letting the muse go really worked.
Now I'm gonna take a break before I get to Buffy. I have a feeling she's really not going to be nice to Spike. But I'm guessing once she's vented, she too will go where I want and I'll have a hard time keeping up.

You really don't want to read this, just needed to vent
I hate writing anything Post Chosen. There are too many things to fix, too many subjects to address, especially in regards to Buffy/Giles. Maybe that's why I've pretty much avoided this timeline. I did one, but that was like immediately after Chosen and it was part of a series. I have another that is unbetaed, but it's PWP, so no need to deal with any angst or such. So I embarked on another story last night, but the best area for it to happen, is Post Chosen. That means they have to deal with Spike.
Not that I don't like Spike, he's a wonderful funny character, most of the time. But anything from Wrecked on is filled with torment and anger and angst for Buffy and Giles to deal with. Most of what I have written takes place Post Graduation and Pre Wrecked. That way the most I have to deal with is Angel, Parker and Riley. Angel is easy, he's the idealized version of what Buffy thinks she wants. Parker, a non issue as far as I'm concerned. A mistake she made and she's learnt from it. Riley, her attempt at normal, I never thought they were right together, so I find it very easy to push him away and out of Buffy's life. But Spike….so much anger and pain there.
So back to the story. I know what I want to do and where I want to go. However Giles wants to rant. I started from his POV and the anger and frustration just poured onto the page. I didn't want to stop it, because I've learnt to follow the muse, no matter where she goes. Trying to subvert the muse leads only to badly written, forced stuff. So Giles is ranting, and hasn't finished ranting yet. I only stopped because it was getting late, but I think I can pick up where I left off. I figure I let him rant I can get to the stuff I want and edit later. Or maybe the story will be all the better for the ranting. I have the feeling Buffy is going to be the same way. Hopefully by the time I get them in the same room, they'll be mostly done with the anger and ready to accept the fact they are supposed to be together.
But this is Buffy and Giles we are talking about, two of the most stubborn characters ever. I can relate. So, I'll just go with the flow for now and maybe end up with a great story.
