Need a beta for something non Buffy

Well I'm almost finished and I need a beta. I know a lot of you guys on my flist are fans of Stargate:Atlantis, so your help would be appreciated as it deals with a character from there. And could anyone also direct me to some Atlantis fic? I need to see if I'm getting the voice right. Thanks a bunch.

My wandering muse

Well because I have no life, I joined yet another community. Found mary_screw through malnpudl and we're both going to that special hell, yay us!
Course as soon as I did, I knew exactly what I wanted to write to be my first post. It would venture into a fandom I seldom talk about, but absolutely love and adore, Stargate:Atlantis.  And of course the muse pulled me along, laying out the story for me. I just need to write it down. I really don't need this, really I don't. I want to finish the Core Four Fic, then I have my Season Three fic to overhaul and there are S/W ideas and Wes/Fred ideas floating around in my head. Do I really need something else to distract me? Apparently I do, cause I think once I finish posting this, I may have to go write it before it bugs me, before I forget it and before anything else.
So pity me and my flighty muse, or applaud me for venturing into something new. Either way, I'm going to that special hell, but at least the company will be interesting.

Core Four Fic: Oh yes, the sex had begun

Finally after lots of smoochies and two interruptions from Giles, I have gotten to the sex. Granted I have only just begun and it's just Xander and Willow so far, but Buffy and Giles will get their turn. My muse has finally deemed to cooperate. Maybe it was cause I read all that B/G porn. Ya think?

I want to give quick thans to . She read what I posted this morning and responded with “whoa, more!”

Random Patheticness

So during an insominia induced web surfing spree last night, I was going through some of my favorite Giles sites. Ended up at Riposte, the mirror site for the WatcherGirls Yahoo group. Checked out the Update page and low and behold, my stories have finally been archieved (including my Wes fic)! Is it sad that I got so excited over such an insignificant thing? Pathetic much? So there is yet another place to find my fic, which is cool. Now I need to write more, I'm thinking. Just need to kick the muse into cooperating.

Core Four Fic

Okay , so it's going reeeaaallllyyy slow. I know I don't want to rush the sex, but I think its also trying to juggle four voices in my head. I have no trouble writing Buffy and Giles seeing as I deal with them all the time and have their voices down. I'm trying to keep them from taking over and remembering to include Willow and Xander. Willow, well I just wrote a story with her, so I'm a little more comfortable with her voice than I used to be, got some good Willow babble in the stroy. It's Xander I'm having the problem with. I guess I'm just trying to keep him from reverting to seventeen and all hormones. He's matured and deserves some respect. I've been reading some W/X fic, trying to get his voice in my head, it's helping some.

On a positive note, I just found a great Core Four icon that I think I'll be using every time I talk about the story. Now I just have to decide which of my other icons to delete so I can upload it.

Would anyone be interesting in seeing more of this stroy? Maybe with some good feedback, I'll be able to get it going faster. Thoughts?

I really am a meme whore!

Pick ten of your favorite books, look them up on Amazon.com, and find the list of Statistically Improbable Phrases for those novels. Pick a few SIPs from each book, list them here, and then have people guess what books they are. (Obviously, using Google or Amazon to figure it out is cheating.)
I had to change a couple of my books cause they had no SIPs and one I couldn't use cause both SIPs would have been a dead giveaway. I also use two authors twice.

ETA: Okay it's been two days and no one wants to try and guess them? Here are the answers.

1.rundown bootheels, red flaw, dark man  Stephen King's The Stand. I read this at least once a year, and the miniseries was excellent.

2. tunnel snakes, eccentric planet, landing grid Dragon's Dawn by Anne McCaffrey. Part of the Dragons of Pern series, gives the origins of the Dragons.

3. security disks, gate security Glory In Death by Nora Roberts (writing as JD Robb). I love, love, love the In Death series, this is the first.

4. mass disappearances, ancient enemy, decontamination suits Phantoms by Dean Koontz, my favorite by him.

5. quantum foam, handsome knight, transit room Timeline by Michael Crichton, my fav of his. If you've seen the movie, the book is waaaayyy better. The only good thing in the movie was Gerard Butler (yum!)

6. fellis juice, bronze rider, fighting wings Moreta by Anne McCaffrey. Another in the Dragons of Pern series, the end always makes me cry.

7. chief mullah, silvery eyes, silk caftan Skye O'Malley by Bertrice Small, the start of a 12 part series. Bertrice is an inspiration and a goddess in the arena of erotic romance.

8. disappearing house, underground house Kiss the Girls by James Patterson. I love Alex Cross and the movie wasn't bad.

9. guerilla shrews, sword case, candied chestnuts Redwall by Brian Jaques. If you loved Watership Down, you'll love this and all the Redwall adventures.

10. pink storm, chayrou tree, batwing doors. Wizards and Glass: The Dark Tower part 4 by Stephen King. I wanted to use the first Dark Tower book, The Gunslinger, but the SIPs were dead giveaways. My sister pulled me into this series and I fell in love with it immediately.

If anyone gets 7 or 9, I'll be so surprised I might do a fic/drabble on demand, something I don't normally do. It also means the person who guesses them and I have a lot more in common than I thought.

I chose it well because its an alias I've used a lot. It's my email and somethingI've used in various places. It is the voice range I sing. The alto is the lower woman's voice range and second alto is more in the lower register. Actually when I've practiced enough I'm more of a contralto, but they usually don't have that part in choruses.  I began singing in middle school, did some in high school but I really got into it in college. I sang in the University Chorus just about every year I was there. I miss it, mostly cause it was fun and we sang so many different and interesting things.

Not gonna tag anyone, do it if you like, I just thought everyone would like to know where my LJ name came from

Just Something Odd I Noticed

So I'm watching “A New Man” again, and I noticed something. As Fyarl Giles bursts into Ethan's hotel room, Ethan calls him Giles, twice. Before that Ethan's always called him “Ripper”, even does so when Buffy shows up. So why the change? Just something that caught my ear and niggled at me. Ethan is grwoing on me as a character. I think sometime in the futrure there may be a fic, one where I don't kill him.
