Happy Halloween!

A wonderous All Hallow's Eve to you all!

My son is going to be a pirate this year. My mom and sister took him out the other day to find a sword and came back with this package of stuff. It has the plastic sword, but it also had the eyepatch, a small dagger, a hook, a fake earring, a telescope and some fake gold coins. It's too cute! I'm sure my mom will take pics and if I can I'll load them for everyone to see.

Writing and a birthday

So did a small amount of writing today, and not on my CYA story. I wrote a little of the next part of SoC. *dances* It's not much, but it's a start. 

Also got my assignment for the Wesley round of

  I'm happy with it. Feel that I can produce something worthwhile that will please the requester. May let it stew for a day before starting.

Lastly I want to wish a wonderful and Giles-filled Happy Birthday! to

 I know life has been hectic, but may today be a good one. I hope I can have my cheerleader back soon! *hugs*

My accomplishment for today

Writing. Got past the scene in my CYA story that was giving me trouble. Sent what I had to my beta goddess, , after having a small 'omg this sucks' moment. She said it was fine, mostly. So that made me feel better. I think everything will probably be put on hold for this. I have ideas for the next part of SoC, I just need to sit down and write them down. Healing, well I tried to start the next scene, with no luck. I may try it again from a different POV. Tinkered a little with the G/X fic, needs more work. And of course, now that Wesley is the focus of the next round at , so I'll probably be going over there after I post this to sign up. So yeah, lots of things to do.

A nice surprise

Well I was all ready to make a nasyish phone call and hubby was ready to drive son to school when at 8:30 we get a call from the transportation department. They were calling to let us know they could pick him up! So he took the bus and will be taking the bus from now on. Yay!

The bliss of a quiet household

Today was my son's first day at his new school.

I cannot begin to tell you how happy that makes me. The house was quiet. It was wonderful. My mom's poor dog was confused though. He's had my son to play with and today, no playmate. But I am looking forward to more quiet and quite possibly, writing! Yay! Of course we still have to get the busing situation figured out, but that's a problem for tomorrow. Now please excuse me while I go and do virtual happy dances for a while.

*chants* My son goes to school tomorrow! *dances* We have to take him and pick him up (transportation won't be set up til Friday) but he's going! *twirls* *bounces* This after spenidng most of the day talking with the school's psychiatrist on the phone. He's going to be in a regular classroom at first and then they'll see about the special stuff as they get to know him. but most importantly, he's going to school!!!!!!!

Stress

Well all my plans for writing today went right out the window. Had to spend my first hour awake, keeping my eye on my son while hubby got a little more sleep in. Then I had to get a shower to go over to the school to get son registered. my dad drove me cause he said he knew where the school was. Right. Wrong school, which we found out after climbing three (small) flights of stairs. But we got directions to the right school and I signed my life away. We still need to get my son to have a physical (it's state law) which he was needing anyway, but the woman said she waould start processing it and to call her this afternoon. Okay, no problem.

Well at 3:00, I called. She said she'd only just got his IEP from the administrative offices. WTF?!?!?!? They've had these papers since Thrusday!  I'm beginning to get a little pissed off at the school system. Let's hope the school itself is better, especially since they just got awarded a School of excellence award from the state. So let's hope by Thursday my son is in school. I could use the rest.

Some writing (yay!) and other misc. stuff

Yes, I got in about ten minutes or so of writing while hubby was eating lunch and son was playing on the computer. And it was for my story. So yay! Also got back notes and suggestions on another G/X story from my beta goddess, , so there will be work on that soon, I hope.

The RL stuff is that we finally heard from the school adminstrative offices. Turns out the paperwork I submitted Thursday didn't get approved until Friday afternoon. *shakes head, rolls eyes* Anyhow, we still have to go pick up a information packet at the school he's going to and fill that out. That's on the agenda for tomorrow. With any luck he will start sometime this week. *crosses fingers*

Finally caught up on Stargate Sg-1 and Atlantis. Right now, To Be Continued are my three least favorite words in the English language. Watched Friday's BSG, OMG! So many good things going on! This is turning out to be an awesome season! Catching up on the latest season of The Dead Zone, will be catching up on last season's CSI and CSI:Miami soon. Can I say how much I love the internet?

That's really about all for now. Hopefully more writing tomorrow and in the future. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Jumping thorugh hoops (figuratively)

Yesterday I did just that, jumped through all the hoops to get the people my son's info to get him into school here. You know what they told me? Some guy had to look it all over and put his stamp of approval on it. What approval? WTF? I have to send my son to school BY LAW and they're telling me someone has to approve this? *shakes head* Anyhow….supposedly after he approves it, it all gets faxed over to the school he would be going to and they're supposed to call us. Now they were supposed to call either yesterday afternoon or this morning, they didn't. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed they call Monday. If we don't hear something soon, the school's administrative board is going to have a couple of angry parents on their hands.

Other than that, life is…going. Did a smallish bit of writing on my CYA ficathon story. It's going. Typed up the next chapter of Championverse, sent it to Fia. Once she looks it over, it will prolly get posted. Other than that, been to stressed to write. Maybe I'll find some time to write this weekend. I need to write, it will help with the stress (I hope).

Been catching up with some of my shows. Caught up with BSG (OMG, can't wait for tonight's ep!), almost caught up with SG-1 and SGA (two eps each to go, then I have to wait until next year for new shows, agh!). Might even be able to catch up with Lost, watch all of last season. (Yes I know, I'm way behind).

Other than that, life is going. Hope eveyone is doing well.
