The Kerfuffle of 2007
By now everyone probably knows what it going on in LiveJournal land. And everyone has their opinion on the subject.

journal. She has several very well thought out and logical posts about this whole incident, with links to relevant sites and posts.
Many people have brought up the fact that Six Apart, the owners of LJ have not responded to numerous call for a response to this whole debacle. My feeling is we should hit them where it hurts. Many people have said they will not purchase a permanent account when they come up for sale, I include myself among them. Others are indicating that they will not renew their paid accounts. My account is up in September (my extra userpics will expire soon). I had thought about appealing to the generous people on my flist in order to keep my paid account. Now I'm not so sure.
I came to LiveJournal to find people who were interested in the same things I was. I found that. I also found good, supportive friends and a place where I felt I could escape to when real life was driving me crazy. Now it is turning into a place where I am not sure I want to be, with all the paranoia and fear. I sincerely hope that this all blows over soon. But for now, I'm being cautious and waiting.
LJ Rumors and so on…..
There is only one story that I have written that might be construed as offensive, there is underage sex, but both parties involved are 16/17. I am considering locking it but for now it's staying unlocked. Everything else that has sex in it is between consenting adults. (Mostly, there is the aforementioned story and one story with a non-consensual hand-job.)
I have nothing in my interests that would get my journal deleted. And if for whatever reason this journal would throw up a red flag, all my finished stories are archieved elsewhere. Mostly. There are a few I posted within the last month that haven't made it elsewhere, but that's easily fixed.
To me, what is happening is nothing short of a witch hunt. LiveJournal is a place for people to get together and share their interests and stories. It's sad that the way some of us perceive certain things in some of our favorite shows should be targeted in such a way.
I understand the paranoia but am not bending to it. Yet.
Ideas please
So I have two of three stories for summer_of_giles going (my day is July 30, plenty of time), but I need help with the third. I know I want to do something Buffy/Giles, I jut don't know what. So I come to you dear flist and ask for ideas. Schmoop, angst, h/c, whatever. I'll be sure you get credit when it comes time for posting.
If things go well on the writing front I might even attempt a fourth story, possibly Giles/Wesley.

I know I've been kind of quiet of late, and I just want to let everyone know I am still here, still reading your entries, still hanging around the web.
It's just…..there are certain things going on, things that I'm not really sure I can articulate accurately here. I'm going through some stuff and I'm trying my best to work it out on my own. I know that everyone around here seems to be having a hard time and hopefully we will all get past this soon.
There are a lot of decisions in my life that I look back upon with regret. But I try not to dwell on them, no matter what, because I can't change them. Wondering what if works well for fiction, not so much for real life.
The one decision I don't regret is coming here, to fandom, and finding all of you wonderful people. I cant imagine how dull my life would be without you guys. Just knowing that all of you are here for me, it helps. I'm not leaving fandom, it's been a place of love and joy during some tough times this past year. I just don't have as much time for it as I would like.
I have some plans, some ideas, that may help towards finding a place where I can feel the same way in my real life. Nothing is set in stone yet, but with luck and good planning, I will find what I am looking for.
I'm going to stop now before I start babbling and not making sense. Just know that everything you say here is read and appreciated. Know that if I could, I would thank each and every one of you personally. Know that I will be okay, I am stronger than I think and I will get through this.

I just came back from signing all the relevant paperwork at the lawyers office. That means that once the company files it, within 30 days I will have my settlement money and will no longer have to deal with them.
Also, today i became a working woman again. I started at K-mart. It's only part-time and only minimum wage, but I have to start somewhere. I'm still putting in apps everywhere and sending out my resume, so fingers crossed I'll get something full time that pays more, soon.

Yes, yesteray morning I got in some writing. A short little scene for 'Healing' and a longer UST filled scene for 'Fallen Heroes' with Spike pointing out the obvious. I probably will get around to typing them up and sending them off to
(heads up A!) tomorrow. Then I feel like I can concentrate on my offerings for
. There will be actual fics this year. A B/G for sure, possibly a G/X and certainly a Giles/someone else (don't want to spoil the surprise).
I didn't type them up yesterday afternoon because I was mainlining NCIS season three. I seriously heart McGee and Ducky (but heck, I had a crush on David McCallum from his Man from UNCLE days so of course I love Ducky.) I'm going to attempt to finish season 3 today. Also going out to a book signing tonight. Don't know who, but it's someone Brad reads and I'm just going along to get out of the house (and because he said he'd buy dinner).

Aww hell…..My external hard drive died. It was fine last night when I was using it. Then I took it upstairs so Brad could transfer some things off it onto his computer. This morning, when he went to access it, it wouldn't spin up. Dead. Deader than a Norwegian blue.
Luckily I was mostly using it as a backup drive for all my fics and such. There were a few music and fannish related things on there I don't have on my laptop, but I can find those again with a little luck and persistance. And it's still under warranty so I can get it replaced. It just….sucks. I hadn't had it for very long and didn't really use it all that often.
*sighs* Life goes on I suppose…..
