I may be a tad drunk and dizzy.

After a shot of tequila and a shot of strawberry liquour. And lemon lime soda mixed with rum.

Here's to cheating on the low/no carb diet. Yay Halloween!!! *drinks* *wobbles*

Best Idea Ever? (or am I on crack?)

So I'm sitting here, looking through my DVD and I come across 'Trekkies and Trekkies 2'. For those of you who don't know, these are documentaries about Star Trek fans and how they became fans, how they incorporate Trek into their lives, etc. They're quite facsinating  actually. And I know that the original spawned a similar film for Lord of the Rings fans.

Now, would it be utterly crackified for me to suggest that someone, somewhere, organize something so one could be made for Stargate fans?

Happy Places

October 19, 2007 by katy

and I were talking yesterday about a fic and I mentioned that something that happened in it was my happy place and then commented that yes, I have a lot of happy places. So I've decided to put them down, in the vague and desperate hope that it might spark something (because omg I should be writing but the muse she is stubborn).

*points to icon* Matt/Mohinder and Molly.

Woobie Sam Winchester from yesterday's Supernatural. Dean kicking ass.

House and Wilson bickering.

Jack and Daniel bickering. And looks. And the fact that the writers gave us what we wanted. See “200″.

John and Rodney banter. And looks. And the fact that they are so married even the writers know it. See “Doppleganger”.

Early season Angel with Angel and Cordy and Wes or Doyle.  Late season Angel with Spike and 'cavemen vs. astronauts'.

Carson and Teyla. Wash and Zoe. fiareynne gets this.

Buffy and Xander in season 2 or post Chosen.  Especially comic Buffy and Xander.

Buffy and Giles and many, many Watcher/Slayer moments.

Buffy and Wesley because yes.

Wesley and Giles for Watcher love.

Xander and Giles because…well just because.

Adam Baldwin tied up.

RDA's arms. And grin. And mischevious looks.

Micheal Shank's arms. And eyes. And…..yeah.

Joe Flannigan's ability to look utterly adorable and incredibly sexy at the same time (especially while on a skateboard).

Hewlett's crooked smile. And his ass.

James Marter's voice. Christian Kane's too.

ASH's voice, accent and eyes.

David Boreanaz's smile and unrestrained boyish glee when he gets to play pranks.

Nicholas Brendan's tatoo. And the fact he's a B/Xer.

This:

Because Paul is the sweetest, nicest guy ever.
And finally this:

Because sharing fandom with your online friends in RL is made of awesomesauce.
May I get to have pics with the rest of you someday too.

Lenny Kravitz's cover of “American Woman” from the Austin Powers soundtrack would make an awesome Cordelia vid. It's such a Cordy song.

Have written more of my G/X story. Am letting it sit for a while before soldiering on. I have vague ideas of what should happen next, they just need to solidfy a little more before I get them down on the page.

I have three versions of “Lady Marmalade” on my playlist. The original Patti Labelle version, the Moulin Rouge version, and Andy Hallet's version.

My resolve not to sign up for the SGA secret santa thing is slowly slipping.

I also have this perverse urge to write a fic based on lyrics from each song in my love song playlist.

I may do a picspam post later today. haven't done one in a while.

That's all.

Much squeeish fangirling under the cut.

Don't touch it John! Of course he does.

I liked Sam in this episode with one exception. Yes, nice call back to both “Cold Lazarus” and “The Gamekeeper”, but I really hope they don't do that every time she's on screen. This is ATLANTIS, writers.

LORNE!!!!! *flails* And he's sleepwalking, thinking John's a replicator. I love the expression on his face when he's holding the gun to John. Such a woobie. *hugs him*

Okay, now, the total and utter slashiness that is John and Rodney.

First, the hug that Teyla gives John was nice. But he so awkwardly returns it that you know he wants it to be Rodney he's hugging.

Second, John's nightmare is Rodney dying!! And the look on his face when he actually thinks Rodney is dead! I just want to hug him and kiss him and make it all better.

Third, Rodney going in after him!! *flails*

This episode couldn't have been filled with more slashy goodness if it tried. Oh show. *hugs it*

Real Life stuff

Life is going well. Liam has picture day today, so maybe in a few weeks I'll have new pics to post.

I just came back from a training session at another store for work. It was barely two hours long because most of us knew this stuff already. I have been talking with my manager and he's looking into making me a lead for one of the departments. Same hours (35 a week roughly) but better pay. Which is good.

Only one more trip to my mother's house and everything is out of there. It's mostly my doll collection which was sitting at the bottom of the closet of the room we were in. Now to find a place to put them here.  Two or three more trips out to our storage space and everything will be out of there. I'd completely forgotten how many books we had. OMG, just so many.

and I had too much fun last night watching Chuck, Heroes and SGA (we saw “Doppelganger”, more on that in another post).  I've already sqeed about Heroes and all I have to say about Chuck is every night should end up with Adam Baldwin in that situation. *nods*

Liam is doing well in school. We make him practice his math skill every day, whether he has math homework or not. I'm reading him a chapter of Roald Dahl's The BFG every night. When I'm done with that, Brad's going to read him Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. He's going as a devil this year for Halloween. There will be pics posted.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a cause close to my heart, it's my big cause. My dad's mom survived breast cancer. Her mom and her grandmother both died from it. I know many people who have survived it and one or two who are currently battling it (you know who you are, *Hugs*). If you go to The Breast Cancer Site and click on the link there, you can help get women free mammograms. Help someone defeat this disease, please click.

That's all, hope everyone and their families are doing well.

Icon Meme!

Comment on this post. I will choose seven userpics from your profile and you will explain what they mean and why you are using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

 picked these seven…

by velocitygrass. Rodney McKay and John Sheppard of Stargate:Atlantis. The two gayest people I have ever seen. Seriously. Just watch them interact. From the moment they meet in the pilot there is serious eyefucking going on. They do non-verbal communication like noone. This icon is a classic John and Rodney look. It was the first McShep icon I ever snagged, and I just love it. I use it for stories and general John/Rodney stuff.
by goldie_gal. Lt. Colonel John Sheppard. Surprisingly when I first started watching SGA, I didn't like John. What a fool I was. How can you not love this pretty, dorky man? I use this icon when talking about John or the actor who plays him, Joe Flannigan. Because both are extremely boyish and charming when they want to be.
by fifmeister. Radek Zelenka of SGA as played by David Nykl. Ahhh, Radek. Just as smart as Rodney and yet so underappreciated. I love smart men. I love men with accents. Add the two and…..yeah. Used when I'm feeling especially smart, or for talking about Radek or SGA in general.
maker unknown. I want to say I grabbed this from a community but I was bad and forgot to label the maker. I'd really like to find out who did make it because marrying the catchphrase from Heroes season one to Buffy and Giles in 'The Witch'? Perfect. I'm not sure that I've used this one a lot, but I probably will.
by fiareynne. Do I need to explain this? Who doesn't love the woobieness of Wash? I loved Joss again watching Firefly and then hated him after Serenity. I think you know why. Used for Wash posts or discussions about Firefly.
maker unknown. I was bad yet again and would love to credit the maker of this. It's Noah Bennett, aka HRG or Horned Rimmed Glasses. I think like most people, I didn't like him at first, but grew to love him and the way he was trying to protect his family. The look his has here, hope and a bit of despair…it just kills me. I love HRG even more this season. More HRG please! Used for Heroes posts.
by canecrazy. Gregory House and James Wilson. Okay, so I was dragged into House by fiareynne and mainlined the first two seasons. House is grouchy and Wilson deals with it. They have a relationship that can be seen merely as friendship, but if you're like me, it's slashy goodness. Especially after the most recent episode. (IT'S CANON!) *ahem* Anyway, used for discussions about House.

SGA4.03 "Reunion"

Spoilers under the cut, plus some minor ranting.

Okay, overall I loved the episode, and Jason Momoa acted his ass off. Plus I totally teared up at the Sam/Teal'c goodbye. Tears and sniffles. And flailing when Teal'c reprised his equines line.

But I do have my complaints.

1) WHERE'S LORNE?????? Seriously people, it's the third episode and no Evan? *pouts* It would have made TOTAL sense for him to go on the rescue mission, instead we get Carter.

2) Directors, we know Rachel is pregnant. We know that the writers are going to incorporate this into Teyla's storyline. Quit being so obvious about hiding the baby bump.

3) First, go here and take a good look at the first picture. If you can't see what I'm talking about, it's in the right hand corner at the top. Take a moment.

Yes, that's a picture of JACK Sam has in the tub (

thought it was a garbage can, lol). Pining much? That's about as subtle as a hammer people.  Sam does not need a man to be a complete woman. The moment the writers of SG1 started pairing her off, she was never the same kick ass Sam I loved.

But still, there was enough here to make me like the episode and I look forward to the next one.
