I knew him first from the X-Files. And then from Supernatural. He did wonderful work. He will be missed.

Obama Needs A Better Proofreader
Hahahahaha, I love it.
Someone on LJ just pointed out that in his speech, Obama said that 44 have taken the oath of office. Not true!!
It has been ADMINISTERED 44 times, but only 43 men have been President. Grover Cleveland was President twice, in NON-CONSECUTIVE TERMS. He’s only one man people!
Nothing against this historic and awesome day, but come on! Someone should have caught that before he went out on a world-wide stage and said it.

It is such an historical day today. As I sit here, watching all the coverage, I can’t help but take a moment to think of how far this country has come. And to know that I had a small part in bringing this day to fruition fills me with such…awe and joy.
My daughter is napping beside me, but I will be so proud to tell her and her brother that I was a part of this.I can say without reservation, I am proud to be an American citizen this day. To revel in the peaceful transition of power…it really is a heady moment.
I have said it to Brad and I will say it here, Obama is my generations’ JFK.
I am in tears now. That was so awesome.

My plan to take over the world is coming together! (NOT!)
My middle sister called me up yesterday. I got her hooked on Buffy! Mwhahahahahahaaha! We burned her the first 3 (?) seasons for Christmas and now she’s hooked. She’s coming over on Wednesday for the rest of the series.
I guess I have no excuse to keep putting off watching that season four episode I needed to for my writing purposes now.

What I should been doing this morning while Sarah was napping:
Working on my Buffy Big Bang or at least watching the relevant episodes to get the characters voice back in my head like I’ve been meaning to do for the last two days.
What I actually did:
Started writing a Joey/Rachel Future fic. At least I know Fia will read it. *sigh* Damned plot-bunnies.

I just found out that Ricardo Montalban died.
*frown*
I loved him as Khan in Star Trek.
Now I’m Really Torn
One of my favorite sci-fi authors, John Scalzi, has announced that he is going to be a creative consultant for Stargate: Universe. Joe Mallozzi is a big fan of Scalzi’s always mentioning “Old Man’s War” when someone asks for sci-fi book recommendations. So to hear that the two of them will be working together…it’s altrenately exciting and worrisome.
I swore up and down that I wouldn’t watch SG:U. And when I first read Scalzi’s announcement I lost a teensy bit of respect for him. But thinking about it, this could be a good thing for the Stargate franchise. Scalzi is a damned great writer and if he can inject half the fun, humor and realism that he has in his books into the show, then, I think I may have to watch.
If you’ve never heard of John Scalzi, I can’t recommend him enough. He has this futuristic series that starts with “Old Man’s War” and it’s nothing short of brilliant. There’s also “Agent to the Stars”, so funny and “Android’s Dream” which has some relevance in today’s world. Go to your local library and find them and read them. You won’t be disappointed.
Now I just wonder if I’ll get suckered in by Cooper and Wright only to have my heart broken again. *sigh*

I live blogged the episode over at Brad’s blog. Go there for snark and fun times!
My Growing Girl
Sarah had her 2 month appointment today. She weighs 12 pounds 8 ounces, making her in the 90th percentile for her age and she’s in the 95th percentile for height. She’s doing well otherwise. She also got her first set of shots today *pout*. Poor thing didn’t really like that at all. But what’s awesome is that nowadays what used to be three seperate shots came in one. She got DPT, Hib and Polio all in one vaccine. Isn’t modern medicine great? She also got her second HepB shot and one to prevent meningitis. She also got a liquid vaccine for rotovirus. She also seems to possibly be getting her first tooth in. Yay teething!
