*sniffs* In breaking news from the AP, Oscar winning actor, Paul Newman has died. He was 83.
I think I will be watching Butch and Sundance in his memory. You will be greatly missed Paul.

Movie Review: Get Smart

Movie squee
Heading into this year, there was one movie I knew I HAD to see in the theaters; the untitled X-Files sequel.
Then along came the Indy 4 trailer and I added a second. (ZOMG Harrison's still got it.)
Now, I have added a third. Get Smart.
When the studios announced the production of the Get Smart movie,Brad and I debated who would best play Maxwell Smart, filling the shoes of the awesome Don Adams. Steve Carell's name immediately came up. And we were both delighted when he was confirmed as Smart. Until the first trailer came out we both waffled on Anne Hathaway as 99 because she was no Barbara Feldon, but then again, who is? After the first trailer we both decided we needed to see the movie, but when I recently saw the second trailer,I knew I had to see Get Smart in the theatre. So, I embed because I want to share the love. My squee moment came at the very end, which is what clinched it for me.

Wow, this telecast is zipping by swiftly. I'm impressed.

Torchwood season 2!! Okay, so I watched the episode yesterday, but forgot to squee about it. But let's just say I will be keeping it around for much rewatching because there is nothing like canonical pretty boy-kissing to make a girl's day better.
New Atlantis on tonight! Okay, so what I've heard of what might happen is slightly less squeeful, but new TV is always of the good.
Rewatching of Angel seasons one and two! And the plotbunnies that are generated from said watcing. I do love my boys. *sighs*

It's an independant film about the people who rate films. The director talks to other directors and their reactions to how their films are rated and finding out who the actual people are that rate films. It's really, really intersting. And fun. And yes, slightly graphic, but worth it.

Yesterday night Brad and I went to the drive in to see The Simpsons movie and Order of the Phoenix. $15 for both of us for both movies, not bad. Under the cut are my impressions.
Order of the Phoenix was okay. I knew that it wouldn't be chock full of things I wanted to see so I didn't go in with high expectations. I loved Luna, but when I read the books, I picture her as a brunette. The actor plaing Neville certainly has grown up, hasn't he? Every time the Weasley twins were on screen I would just sigh and go “My boys” and try not to get all misty eyed because I've read book 7.
Things I didn't like, the end bit was spectacular but where were their “Rescue Mission” badges? And what about the statues coming to life? And that was not the Dolores Umbridge I imagined when I read the book. But the thing that ticked me off the most was the way that whoever directed the film tried to have that little bit of fringe framing Daniel Radcliffe's face just so they wouldn't have to add in the lightening scar. How lame was that? Because I could tell that's exactly what they were trying to do and they didn't do a very good job of it at all. He's supposed to be Harry Potter for goodness sake, the scar is IMPORTANT. Shell out a few more bucks and put it in!
