Shatner, Get Over Yourself

In the last day or so, all the big entertainment blogs have been posting little tidbits about how William Shatner, aka, Star Trek’s Captain Kirk is upset that he wasn’t invited to fellow Trek alum George Takei’s wedding.
Boo hoo.
George has responded by saying Shatner was issued an invitation but never responded. Either way, I don’t think it matters. It was George’s wedding and both he and his partner Brad made the decisions as to who got to come and who stayed home. So even if Shatner didn’t get invited he should suck it up and just wish George and Brad the best instead of making a huge fuss about it. You’re almost 80 years old man, act like it.

Remember the proposal from the Department of Health and Human Services that would have changed the definition of abortion to include contraception? Well, it’s about to be put forth. In this article, the secretary of the HHS says it has been changed so that anyone in the medical profession who has an objection to providing those services will not be persecuted for doing so. But the proposal is still unclear on what abortion is exactly. Below are my thoughts, most of which comprised an email. I urge all women to contact the email and raise their voice. Tell your mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, any woman you care about to let the people in charge know how you feel about this issue. Flashback HRG is kinda hot.
Claude!!!! OMG! He worked with HRG!! Claire and Matt interacting. Yay. This is so cool. Really works for our RPG. *hints to Fia* Love that Matt tells Claire about Peter and protecting her. Pieces of the puzzle.
Tiny Hiro!!!! OMG!!!!!!! *flails* The connections between the heroes just get more intersting!

Hello Stargate friends
This is for all my new friends made via the Stargate Friending Meme, everyone can pretty much skip this.
I love watching t.v. shows but only really got active in a fannish way about a year ago. That's when I discovered Buffy.Then I watched Joss' other shows, Angel and Firefly. I've been writing in the Buffyverse for a year now as well. All my stories are archieved here. There are handy links on the right and in my memories. I write het, slash and occasionally gen. I have multiple pairing loves.
Stargate. I discovered the show about a year before Buffy. I'd loved the movie and when we learnt how to download shows my husband and I watched the first eight seasons over a summer. I've rewatched it all again since and got the first two seasons on DVD for Christmas which meant of course more rewatching. I also enjoy SGA.
I loved Jack first. I adored RDA back on MacGuyver, love him more as Jack. Then came Daniel. Then came Jack/Daniel. I also read gen and occasionaly Jack/Sam. I've written a few things in the Gateverse. Three really cracktastic ficlets, mostly written on dares. You can find them here, here and here. Knowledge of the episode 200 essential. And recently I delved into a crossover between Angel and Stargate. The first part (and all upcoming parts) can be found here.
SGA I enjoy mostly for the team aspect. My first and biggest love is Carson. I'm slowly starting to read McShep. I also have a fondness for Beckett/Zelenka. I'm open to others.
I've seen as far as “The Tao of Rodney” for SGA and “The Quest part 1″ for SG1. I lost track of episodes and will probably rewatch the entire seasons once they are done, which I think SGA is. So no spoilers please. I think part of my reluctance to download what I've missed of SG1 is a refusal to believe my show is ending. I want to hold onto it for as long as possible.
Other shows I watch and am slightly fannish about: Supernatural (I'm up to the first five eps of season 2), Heroes (Matt and Hiro love), Bones (Hodgins/Angela baby), BSG (need to catch up), and Jericho.
